The Road Ahead – Part 2

As I have been pondering on the road ahead for us at Bayside Church the one thing I am reminded of are the great foundational principles of our faith. For thousands of years these principles have stood the test of time. I am talking about prayer, reading and teaching from the scriptures, singing songs of worship honour and praise to our amazing God, joining together to inspire encourage and build each other up and reaching out to those who need help and don’t have relationship with Jesus. All of these principles are still valid and we should consistently examine ourselves and make sure we embed them in our lives.

Change of location

I will be talking with the principal of Sandgate State School tomorrow this will allow us to set a date for moving. Our first meeting will be a launch, we will invite guests from the school staff and I would love for you to invite friends and family to join us as we launch out into a new era. My good friend Ben Cleaver will be leading worship and we may even have a guest called flossy who is a famous puppet from Oasis/Metro Church.

Moving gives us a chance to make some changes and freshen up how we do things lets all look with enthusiasm at the move and season ahead.

Coming up

This Sunday I will be sharing the second part of the Road Ahead series. It will be more detailed and highlight areas to be involved in church life this year. Come along it will be great especially if you are there!

Keep praying for Rhonda Coates and Sam’s mum and Sascha’s Dad all struggling with Cancer. Be healed in Jesus name!

Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday!

Volunteer Worship Leader Needed

Bayside Church is currently seeking an experienced and capable leader to facilitate worship at our local church.

This is an unpaid leadership role. Whilst church growth is consistent we are currently in a transitionary stage and struggling in this area at a pivotal time.

Interested applicants will receive.

+ Opportunity to direct worship for a flexible, growing congregation as God leads them personally
+ One on one leadership and discipleship training from the Senior Pastor
+ Discipleship and resource support from lay leaders
+ Potential to develop, lead and grow people spiritually through worship

This position would ideally suit someone who is able to lead worship and is looking for an opportunity to develop their leadership and/or pastoral calling in a spirit filled and supportive environment.

If you are interested please send us an email or give Nick a call on 0405 345 574.

Thanks

The Road Ahead

I really enjoyed last Sunday, I sensed that God was with us as we worshiped, which is one of my desires for Bayside Church.

Lets be a Church that worships him passionately!

Sam brought a message that dovetailed with some insight I brought about how we are to flourish like a tree planted by streams of water. Sam also encouraged us to make good use of February our month of Prayer and Fasting.

This week I am starting part one of a 2 part series entitled “The Road Ahead” It is an important time for us as a Church we all need to look ahead and see what the Lord has for us, corporately and individually so we can prepare ourselves and be ready for everything he has planed for us in the year ahead.

Big Picture

Work on the governance and registration of Bayside Church is underway and we are looking to March as the changeover month. Please keep this process in your prayers as there are many details to work through.

Ladies

Ladies ministry has kicked off again this year please see Beth Nowlan for details.
Noraine is also gearing up to have a 4 week evening bible teaching group ask her for the details on Sunday.

Reaching Out

I would like to encourage you to continue to look for ways to reach out to those around you, either at work or in your street or family. I believe there is someone out there that God is lining up for you to share with and lead along the road of salvation.

We also have some church outreach activities planned ahead this year.
· School staff morning teas
· School Breakies
· ANZAC day water of life project.
· Einbunpin Festival involvement.
· Acts of kindness and compassion.

We need volunteers for these outreach opportunities. Talk to me if you are interested.

“You make Bayside Church great!”

Febuary Fast

I have been slightly distracted for the past two weeks simply because I have sensed the Lords challenge to make some structural changes to us, Bayside Church.

Please come on Sunday as I talk about some important changes we are making, I am excited about what God is drawing us into as a church and believe you are in the right place at the right time to fulfil your kingdom destiny through the church.

It’s February and our season of fasting and prayer is upon us! I have been conscious of the need to push aside peripheral distractions and put Jesus into the forefront of my life. I look forward to starting a food fast on Sunday and know God’s Holy Spirit will be very real to me during this month.

If you haven’t made a decision to fast something I think you should. Spiritual discipline brings intimacy with God. We all need deeper intimacy with Him.

Prayer Needs

Please speak healing over

  • Rhonda Coates In Redcliffe hospital
  • Sam Albrect’s Mum

Our Bayside youth small group starts this Sunday prep your kids who are yr 7 and up it will be Awesome!!

See ya Sunday

Tragedy

I hope you are all safe!

Tragedy has hit so many in the last month and yet for me it still seems unbelievable. I have friends in Dalby, Emerald, Toowoomba, Gatton and Brisbane. All have suffered loss in some form. My prayer is that they receive their strength from God and those who are supporting them.

Being prepared to help

I guess many of you, like I am, are wondering what you can do to help those in need. Here are a couple of ways to be of assistance.

ACC has a disaster relief fund you can donate online at www.qldfloods.ir.org.au

If you would like to contribute physically to flood relief efforts, please call Volunteering Queensland on 07 3002 7600 you can try their website but it is experiencing problems. or the following websites for volunteer information.

Local Council

Alternatively there is plenty of opportunity to help in a practical sense particularly as the water subsides over the next week. Please let me know if you want to be part of a clean up team and I will try to coordinate our response.

Victoria Newton our local councillor has relevant information on her website as well.

Warning

Please listen to the authorities and don’t endanger yourselves or anyone else, the flood will leave many dangers in its wake.

Be careful out on the beach at Sandgate, yesterday the lads and I found a live snake, toads, frogs and even a TV and all sorts of rubbish about 150-200 meters from shore. (no the TV did not work!)

Pray

On Sunday we will have a meeting that revolves around Prayer interceding for those who have suffered and are suffering loss of possessions and family. It is a time to come together and collectively lift our voice to God regarding our state and the current disaster that is upon us.

Let’s not underestimate the power of our Prayer. It is our responsibility to take care of the spiritual atmosphere at this time.

Please come on Sunday we need to PRAY.

Helping Out

What a huge couple of weeks for our state, with the astounding number of cities, towns and properties flooded and destroyed it is sometimes hard to know what to do to help. Here are a couple of ways to be a blessing in this time of need for many of our fellow Queenslanders.

On Sunday we will take up a second offering which will go towards the ACC Disaster Relief Appeal.

Alternatively you could go online at www.qldfloods.ir.org.au to donate.

This year is shaping up to be significant for Bayside Church. I believe we will see many changes this year and I am excited about our future and the impact we can have in our community for His Kingdom.

As we head into the next 2 months we are focusing on our relationship with Jesus and seeking his presence in a purposeful and determined manner.

Please prepare yourself now for the month of prayer and fasting in February. I am excited about the intimacy that comes through giving priority to Jesus. It is going to be great!

Prayer

Please pray for healing for Rhonda who has had a fall and is currently in hospital awaiting test results. Also pray for Don that he would be strong in the Lord.

Pray about our up change of building plans that the favour of the Lord will be with us as we negotiate this move.

I believe the best is yet to come for us as a church lets give ourselves to his cause and live our lives in a manner that brings heaven to earth.

See you on Sunday!!

Happy New Year!

The New Year brings a sense of optimism and forethought both personally and collectively. I have been reminded again by the timeless message of Jesus this never changes! He offers life and liberty. He desires to be one with us, in relationship, connected to and part of everything we do.

Let me encourage you, as you think about the year ahead, to set some spiritual goals for the year, here are a few ideas.

  • Pursue a deeper relationship with Jesus
  • Give of your time to sow into the life of Bayside Church. His vehicle for the Kingdom in our area
  • Look to those around you and boldly share Jesus love with them in creative and powerful ways

This year will see a change of location for us as a Church this will provide us with room to grow and expand our influence in the community. I am excited about this and believe we are growing in to a strong and influential spiritual force in our Bayside area.

See at our first Sunday meeting this year!

Another Christmas Party

Great to hear James and Beth testify, in church on Sunday, about how each of them had set aside time to enter into Jesus presence. The result, they met with Jesus in an awesome way.

Please come along and celebrate the birth of Jesus with us.
